So, I've carried on painting a bit more of Metro 2033.
The canvas I'm using is deeper than I normally use - to get the proportions right, I had to use a canvas with a 2:1 ratio, and the only ones available were ones that were just over an inch deep. I don't measure in metric, although i buy frames in metric, I have no idea how big 40 cm is - I have to convert it back to inches before it makes sense!
Anyway, here's a bit more done:
And the right hand side:
I'm hoping to get a little more done on Sunday afternoon.
Welcome to canvas and paints, I hope you like what you find here. This is a step by step account of the paintings I do, from pencil outline to finished piece. I mainly paint video game images to comission, to contribute to raising funds for 2 charities, Oxfam and Child's Play.

Metro 2033 update
I was really silly earlier on this week - I painted some more, took photos, but when I came to upload them, I'd not put the SD card in my camera, so consequently, no pictures! Silly me.
I took a break from gardening today, to paint a little more, so here's an update:
The buildings on the left started:
Tumbled down buildings and start of the snow:
More snow and the rocks started:
I'll aim to do some more tomorrow, in between planting tomatoes and corn on the cob!

Metro 2033 sky done
I've done the sky - I love the colours, the sunset/sunrise (not sure which it is) is so pretty. I'll make a start on the buildings next.
Whole thing:

Metro 2033 pencil outline
I'm sat, impatiently waiting for the postie to deliver my copy of Portal 2, but he's not arrived yet, so I've started the pencil outline of metro 2033. This is going to be an interesting one to paint, as most of the background will be different colour washes, with the detail painted in after - rather like the one I did of Half Life 2.
Here it is, and a couple of close-ups:
I found out yesterday that 40 cm x60 cm paintings cost almost double to post than 40 cm x50 cm paintings, so I'm going to have to be careful about the size of canvases I use in the future - or at least check out with the person I'm painting for that they're happy with the cost!

London Marathon
This is nothing to do with my painting whatsoever, I just want the world to know that I am so proud of my husband - he ran the London Marathon today, for Cancer Research UK. I watched him cross the finish line, and cried with pride. He amazes me!

Zelda is finished!
Oh, this has been such a lovely painting to paint - the colours are lovely, and the image makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!
Anyway, here it is, finally done:
And a couple of close-ups:
All I have to do now is sign it, then wrap it in acres of bubble wrap and post it somewhere far, far away.

Zelda almost done
I've painted for a while again, today, and I've almost finished Zelda.
I've enjoyed doing the dragon's head, and am happy how it's turned out.
Here's a bit more done:
And then a couple of close-ups:
And, yes, I'm leaving Link's face until the last, I know, I should just get on with it!

Zelda - the boat started
This is a lovely image to paint, the colours are just beautiful!
I've started the boat now, and the figurehead, I think I've only a few more hours left on this painting, then it will be finished.
I forgot, I've also started Link. I'm not looking forward to painting the shield, as the design is incredibly intricate. I think I'll have to practice it a few times before I do it on the painting!

Zelda - sail done
Well, I've finally had time to paint, I've done the sail on the boat.
Then I started the seagulls:
This last week has been quite difficult, so it was lovely to sit and paint today, very calming.

Limbo painting on e-bay
I don't know why I'd not thought of posting about this, I'm blaming the very difficult week I've had, my head has been all over the place, I've had no time to paint, and forgot I could post about this.
I painted 4 pictures for my friend Josh, for him to auction for World Bicycle Relief, but this one didn't sell. He's put it up on e-bay, so if anyone is interested in buying a postcard sized painting from Limbo, have a look and place a bid!
I've taken some time off work this week, so hopefully, I'll be able to catch up with some painting.

Zelda - purply background bits done
I've done a little more, this time the purply bits of the background. Not sure if "purply" is a real word.
And a close-up:
Anyway, I'm getting closer to starting on the ship, looking forward to that bit, the figurehead looks like it will be fun to do.

Zelda - background started
I've not posted for a while - nasty bug that laid me low for a few days, meant I couldn't even paint! However, I've managed to at last, so here's an update, I've started the background, doing the grey parts first:
Here's a close-up:
I'm not happy with the pink colour, I'll re-do that later.
