Cult of Rapture Big Daddy outline done

I decided to outline Big Daddy before I painted the diving suit - this is how I've done the okami paintings when there's been a lot of outlining to do. I know it means I'll have to re-paint some of the lines after I've painted the suit in, but without the lines, its harder to see what I'm doing!

And then I couldn't resist painting the red fish -even though I'd told myself i'd do them last! No willpower.

I think I'll have to go over them, though, the red is too translucent on its own.

Cult of Rapture background even closer to being finished!

This is taking waaaay longer than I expected it to - so much lovely blue to do. I should be ready to start the foreground in the next day or so, I'm looking forward to painting the red fish!

Cult of Rapture background started

Well, I've painted for a couple of hours this afternoon, its been lovely! Also, I am a bit thick at times - I've just realised the name of the painting, and made the connection with the Californian silliness last weekend - I'm still here, the Rapture clearly didn't happen! I know Bioshock doesn't have anything to do with that, it just struck me as funny.


Anyway, here's the background started:

Its a bit dark - I've had to change the lights in the room I paint in, and although I've used a flash, its looking darker here than it really is. I should get a bit more done tomorrow.

Cult of Rapture pencil outline

I've done the pencil outline now, and I'm really looking forward to starting this picture. 


I think I like painting in shades of blue the best - when I've looked at my favourites, they have all been very blue!


I should start painting it in the next couple of days.

I'll have to plan this one carefully, as there are so many shades of blue, I might end up with a huge splodge if I'm not careful!

The cult of Rapture - Bioshock a la Penny Arcade

Metro 2033 is finished!

At last, I've finished Metro 2033 - I think this has been the longest I've taken, and the longest gap in posting here. I've been up in Whitehaven, visiting my very poorly Auntie, and then over in Stockton on Tees supervising work on a house there, and have had no time to myself for painting.


Its been strange, not having had the time to paint, but I'm back in the swing of things, now!


Here it is, though, finally done.

Professor Layton painting for World Bicycle Relief

Metro 2033 almost finished

I've done a bit more on Metro 2033, and its nearly finished - i just have the figures in the left foreground to do, plus a bit of fiddling til I'm happy with it. I'm aiming to have it finished by Wednesday next week, then I'll be posting it to somewhere foreign!
